MyFolia, a Website for Gardeners

A few months ago, a friend introduced me to a gardening website that has become indispensable to me, and I don’t say this lightly! The website is myfolia.com, and it is a great way to keep a garden journal for those of us who are not inclined to write things down or who are looking to keep track electronically.

I signed up right after I received my purchased seeds this spring. I entered them into “my stash” and began to plan when I would plant them.

Next, I started actually planting and on myfolia I was able to track when I first saw seedlings. There is a very cool timeline that shows numerous plants at the same time.

Recently, the website has made it twice as easy to enter milestones. There is a pull-down menu with all of your plants. You choose the plant and then the milestone that you would  like to track. There is a place also to add a note and enter the amount harvested (this shows up after you select something from the pull-down menu). Finally, if you are into social media <guilty> you can have myfolia update facebook and twitter instantly.

The site isn’t just a garden journal. It’s also a way to connect with gardeners in your area and to ask questions and get answers from others all over the world. There is a swap feature that allows you to connect with people that have seeds or plants you are looking for, and a unique swap number allows you to track where your seeds/plants are going.

I highly, highly recommend this site to gardeners. It makes tracking your flower or vegetable garden fun and allows you to look back at milestones from prior years. If you want to join, feel free to add me as a friend; just follow this link*

I hope you enjoy MyFolia as much as I do!
